Alumni communicates with DM alumni throughout the year setting up the alumni party, getting alumni to stay active in DM and inviting them to the night of.
Community Outreach is in charge of communicating with the chosen charity, families, superintendent, principals, teachers, parents, student association, clubs and other schools. They also organize charity nominations for the next year.
Corporate Relations is in charge of asking companies for donations. They need to write letters to companies and go to them directly to talk about how they can help with Dance Marathon.
Media is in charge of spreading information about upcoming events in which they create Facebook events and flyers to invite students, faculty and the community. They also create videos for Daily Announcements and provide videos for the night of.
Entertainment is in charge of booking the acts and DJ, as well as creating an itinerary for the night (ie themed hours and activities.
Facilitators take notes and keep track of important decisions during Dance Marathon meetings along with maintain a smooth meeting environment. They also help every other committee.
Registration (Dancer Relations) is expected to keep track of all the people that are registering for dance marathon. This includes making sure that all information for each person is collected, each person has turned in his or her permission slip, and keeping tack of the money everyone has raised. They are also expected to know the dancers and keep them in connection with any events during the year.
Finance counts all the money and keeps track of how much money each person has raised. They also count up the total during the night of, so turn in your money early!
Morale is in charge of making up activities for the day of Dance Marathon. They are in charge of keeping the spirit up. This will also include organizing Dance Marathon Spirit Week and Days, the morale dance and training morale captains.
Public Relations is in charge of advertising for Dance Marathon. This includes designing and ordering shirts, making flyers/posters and hanging them up around school, sending emails to students and teachers about upcoming events as well spreading the word about DM.
Food is in charge of getting food for the day of Dance Marathon. They need to communicate with the school’s food service, restaurants and food companies. They are also in charge of serving the food and getting donations during the year.
Webmaster is in charge of keeping the website organized and up to date. He/she updates the website and keeps viewers informed of upcoming events and charities.
Special Events plans a variety of important DM fundraising events prior to the night of. For example, this committee is responsible for tBay, Empty Walls and the Skokie Backlot Bash.
Fundraising is in charge of organizing all the fundraising opportunities, such as canning, candy sales, bake sales etc…They need to get people to work during lunch periods for bake sales and tabling.
